Arctic Coke

7-Eleven and Coca-Cola crossover two level store located in the Central Business District of Singapore with a new Arctic Coke machine that turns cold bottled Coke drink to instant slushy.

Here is the story: Coca-Cola was inspired by former NASA engineers that dealt with cryogenics. In 2015, Coca-Cola R&D worked with the NASA engineers in SuperCooler Technologies Inc to develop precision refrigeration and nucleating technologies for the slushing result, which led to the science behind the Arctic Coke machine.

Arctic Coke cooler fridge keeps the usual 4-7 Degree Celsius chilled 250ml drink to near freezing point. This will be indicated by the green light on the top left corner.

Followed by positioning the drink on the Arctic machine which sends an “invisible shiver” after a push of a red button below. The base transmits an ultrasonic signal that is crystallized into slush which creates soft, crushed ice from the liquid of Coca-Cola.

The light beam from the Arctic Coke machine shines through the bottle to show the icing process. (Do take a closer look)

Address: The House of Eden, 4 Robinson Road, Singapore 048543

Opening hours: Monday – Sunday 7AM – 11PM

However this technology comes with a few challenges of cooling the drinks to an accurate temperature before an icy magic Coke slushie can be formed.

With that, Coca-Cola solves the problem of a melting ice-cream or a warm drink for a walk in the humid Singapore city center.
